Amdahl-
Dave Amdahl Wrestling Scholarship
This scholarship is open to SPASH senior men who plan to attend
a College, University or Technical College. This scholarship
has a value of $250.
Augustine-
Howie Augustine Scholarship
This is a memorial scholarship established by family and friends of Howie Augustine, to provide a minimum of one $1000 scholarship each year, for the life span of the memorial fund, to a Portage County resident attending a school of higher education.
Behnke-
Donn Behnke Scholarship
This scholarship is open to SPASH senior men who have been on
the cross-country team and have been accepted to a College, University,
or Technical College. This scholarship has a value of $500.
This is a scholarship fund established by Barlow Enterprises to provide one $600 scholarship each year to an employee of Bill’s Pizza who is or will be attending a school of higher education.
Recognizing an importance in education, this scholarship was
created to provide one $1000 scholarship each year. The
recipient must be a graduating senior from Rosholt High School
who plans to pursue an accounting degree and is a member of St.
Ladislaus Catholic Church.
Through the Community First Bank Scholarship Fund, Community
First Bank will award a total of a half million dollars in
scholarships to students of the Stevens Point community, through
2034. Each student selected will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
The recipient must be a graduating senior of either Stevens
Point Area Senior High School or Pacelli High School.
This scholarship fund, established in 2006 by Jay and Linda Cook, will provide one $500 scholarship each year to a graduating SPASH senior, who will be attending an accredited College, University or Technical College, and who has not received other scholarships of greater value.
Davies-
Laura Davies Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2005 and will award (2) $500 scholarships to be awarded to SPASH seniors who meet the scholarship application criteria and who spent their elementary years at McDill Elementary School.
Evenson-
Heidi Evenson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is open to SPASH senior women who have been a member of the Girl’s Gymnastic Team at any time between grades 9-12. This scholarship has a value of $400
This scholarship is open to graduating seniors from SPASH and Pacelli who are members of the golf team and plan to attend a 4-year College, University or Technical College. This scholarship has a value of $750.00. There will be two (2) scholarship winners per year.
Friedrich-
Peter Friedrich Scholarship
This scholarship was created in the spring of 2008 in the memory of Peter and will be awarded to a Portage County resident who meets the scholarship application criteria. Should a recipient discontinue their education, all grant monies not yet awarded will remain in the Fund and be applied to future funding cycles. The Peter Friedrich Memorial Fund was established in July, 2007 with an initial gift of $25,000 given by family and friends in Peter’s memory. This fund will award one $1000 scholarship annually.
Heiser-
Heiser Scholarship
LeRoy and Phyllis Heiser, longtime fans of the Stevens Point Area Senior High School Basketball program, have established the LeRoy and Phyllis Heiser Basketball Scholarship. This scholarship was established to recognize a varsity basketball player, with financial need, who will be continuing on to higher education. This fund will award one $500 scholarship annually, which is available only for the recipient’s first year of school.
Iber-
Iber Health Education Scholarship
This fund exists for the purpose of providing annual scholarships
to Portage County students to assist them in preparation for
health-related careers, and to encourage their return to the
community as professionals.
Recognizing an importance in education, the family established this scholarship fund to provide at least one $500 scholarship each year to a Portage County resident who is attending a church affiliated and supported school of higher education. Four years is the maximum number of years for eligibility of this scholarship.
Johnson-
Fern M. Johnson Nursing Scholarship
This was created for the purpose of providing an annual
scholarship to a non-traditional Portage County student
in preparation for a nursing career. This scholarship has a value of $500.
Norton-
John & Jill Norton Scholarship
This scholarship fund was established in 2006 by John and Jill Norton to provide one scholarship each year to a graduating SPASH senior who will be attending a University of Wisconsin system campus..
Olson-
Mike Olson
Scholarship
This scholarship was established by students, parents and friends of Mike Olson in recognition of his long-term dedication to the SPASH Girls Cross-Country program. This scholarship has a value of $500.
Roman-
George Roman Baseball Scholarship
This scholarship is open to SPASH senior members of the Varsity Baseball Team who has been accepted to a College, University or Technical College. This scholarship has a value of $500.
Schultz-
Scott Schultz Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2008 by the family and friends of Scott Schultz. Scott Schultz was, above all, a community servant. At various times in his short life, he served on the county board, the school board, the community park board and many other community/university committees intending to advance a sense of community. He worked mainly for the Alumni Office and the University Foundation until he became mayor of Stevens Point, an office he held for seven years through the 1990’s. He died suddenly at the age of 51, and at the time, it was felt that a scholarship in his name to a worthy student who shared his sense of community service would be the most fitting tribute. This fund will award (2) scholarships with a value of $1000 ea. One awarded to SPASH and the other to Pacelli.
Smith-
Cheri
Smith Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in 2007 to celebrate Cheri Smith’s 25 years in business as a successful real estate broker in Stevens Point. As a UWSP graduate in business and economics, she felt this was an important way to thank the community with a lasting gift to university students. The scholarship is available to UWSP Juniors or Seniors majoring in business administration and/or economics.
Sorenson-
Dirk Sorenson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is open to SPASH senior wrestlers who plan to attend a College, University or Technical College. This scholarship has a value of $500.
SPAEAF-
SPAEAF Scholarship
These scholarships (26) are open to any SPASH senior, OR the son/daughter of a Stevens Point Public School District employee, who plans to attend a College, University, or Technical College. Each scholarship has a value of $500.

- John M. Schwartz Scholarship
This scholarship established by the family and friends of John
M. Schwartz will provide a scholarship to a graduating senior
seeking to attend a technical or trade school.
Thurmaier-
Mary Thurmaier Foreign Language Scholarship
This scholarship fund, established in 2007 by Mary Thurmaier
and her children, will provide one $500 scholarship each year
to a graduating SPASH Senior who will be attending an institute
of higher education, and who has an academic background and
continuing interest in foreign language.
Turner-
Tim Turner Memorial
Scholarship
Known as a caring man in his community, and often called a Good Samaritan for the little acts of kindness that he randomly conducted with people he did not even know, the late Tim Turner of Almond is being memorialized by his family and friends through the establishment of the Tim Turner Scholarship Fund. This fund will provide a scholarship to a graduating senior from a Portage County high school who is, above all else, a person of strong character, like the generous man for whom this scholarship fund is named. This fund will award at least one $1000 scholarship annually.
Vollendorf-
Jon Vollendorf Girl's Basketball Scholarship
This scholarship is open to SPASH senior women who plan to attend a College, University or Technical College. This scholarship has a value of $250.
This scholarship was established in 2006 in memory of John Wandrey, who served the Portage County community in various ways. John’s demonstrated philosophy was “you can’t just take from your community; you have to give something back”. This scholarship is available to a graduating Portage County student who is involved in their school and community and demonstrates service and leadership roles. This fund will award one $500 scholarship annually.
Wozniak-
Joe Wozniak Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in June 2008 in memory of Joe Wozniak. This fund will award two $1000 scholarships annually to a Portage County resident who will be attending a two-yearTechnical College. Recipients will also receive a $1000 award for their second year if they maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.
Zywicki-
Susan Zywicki Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any SPASH senior who plans to attend UWSP or Mid-state Technical College. This scholarship has a value of $500.
